Technicians install reinforced mounting plate aligned with stair angle, ensuring balanced weight distribution. Process continues with LED driver placement and electrical conduit setup. Stone arrangement follows spiral pattern from center, with tension cables individually adjusted for cascading effect. Final phase includes safety testing, pattern verification, and lighting calibration.

Zest scales in diameter, height, and stone count together, so ceiling height sets the size and the width of the stairwell or foyer confirms it. Then choose the stone color for the mood of the space, the canopy finish for the room's metals, and the light color.

By placement:

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Stairwell: Keep the lowest stone at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the treads beneath it and 6" (15cm) clear of the rail.
• Foyer: Maintain 7 ft (2.13m) of floor clearance; in two-story spaces, position the middle of the cascade near the second-floor line.
• Living room: Keep the lowest stone 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs over a table.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

• Drop calculation: Ceiling height minus fixture height must leave 7 ft (2.13m); a 16 ft (4.9m) ceiling takes the 9 Lights with room to spare, and the 13 Lights needs about 15 ft (4.6m) or more.
• Width check: Keep the cascade diameter under one-third of the stairwell or foyer opening and 12" (30cm) clear of walls and rails.
• Strand order: The stone strands ship in order; hang them in sequence around the canopy so the cascade forms evenly without gaps.
• Daylight: Position the fixture where windows reach it; the stones catch daylight and read as a sculpture even when switched off.
• Air movement: Stone strands sway near HVAC vents or open doors; keep the canopy 3 ft (0.9m) or more from vents.
