Answer the size question before the sale
Free sizing help is not a service we upsell. It is the cheapest way to stop the return that nobody wants to handle — and the reason our advice is the same whether you buy from us or not.
Our story
We started Modern Chandelier in 2016 to fix that.
A chandelier is one of the few things in a home that gets chosen from a single photograph. There is no showroom to walk into, no way to hold it against the ceiling, no second opinion at the moment it matters.
So people guess. They order something that looked right on a screen, and three weeks later a box arrives with a fixture that is too small for the room, too long for the ceiling, or the wrong colour of gold entirely. Then they either live with it or start a return.
We watched that happen enough times to decide the guessing was the actual problem — not the catalogue.
Not a bigger catalogue. A shorter path between a room and the right fixture for it.
Every product page states the room area a fixture lights, the ceiling height it needs, and the exact drop of every size. Before you order, you can send us your dimensions and we will tell you which one fits — in writing, at no cost, with no obligation to buy anything.
And when the order goes out, the suspension is already cut to your ceiling. Your electrician mounts it. They do not modify it on a ladder.
Not values on a wall. Decisions that show up in what happens when you order.

Drop length and ring spacing set to your ceiling, at no extra cost, on every adjustable fixture. Most sellers ship a standard box and leave the adjustment to your electrician.
Every order ships insured, with crystal and glass packed piece by piece. If something arrives broken, the replacement is ours to send, not yours to argue for.
UL and ETL for North America, CE for Europe, SAA for Australia. Not "compliant" — tested, with the documents available on request.
Stairwells that had been dark since the house was built. Dining rooms where the old fixture hung four inches too low. Two-storey entries that needed something readable from both floors.
Those are the projects that come back to us most, and they are the reason the catalogue leans towards multi-ring and cascade designs — the tall, awkward spaces most retailers have nothing for.
We work with homeowners, and increasingly with the designers, architects and builders specifying for them. If lighting is part of your job rather than a purchase, the trade program is built for that.
Ceiling height, room dimensions, a photo if you have one. We will tell you which fixture and which size fits, and if nothing in the catalogue does, we will say that too.
It is free, it takes a day, and it is the part of this business we are most confident about.
