Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Kitchen island: Position the marble bar 32-38 inches above the countertop for clear sightlines while seated or standing.
• Dining table: Hang 30-36 inches above the tabletop with an 8 ft ceiling; raise slightly for taller ceilings.
• Bar / commercial space: Keep at least 7 ft of clearance in walking zones; above seated bar counters, 32-40 inches works well.
• Home office: Center over the desk at 34-40 inches above the work surface for glare-free task light.
