Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Staircase / foyer: Keep the lowest shade at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the floor or stair treads, and spread the shades so the cascade fills the open space.
• Dining table / island: Set the lowest shade 30-38" (76-97cm) above the surface with an 8 ft ceiling; add 3" (7.6cm) per additional foot of ceiling height.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

• Cascade plan: In stairwells, set the longest cords toward the lower end of the stairs and the shortest toward the top landing.
• Drop check: Choose the size whose drop suits your ceiling height, or request longer cords for very tall spaces.
• Over tables: Keep the shades within 6"-10" (15-25cm) of each other in height so the light reads as one fixture.
• Rail clearance: Keep shades at least 12" (30cm) from stair railings and walls.
• Handcrafted variation: Each copper shade is handcrafted, so slight differences in shape and patina are expected.
