By placement:

• Two-story foyer: The 47.2" (120cm) 48-light fills openings of 12' × 12' (3.7 × 3.7m) with 16-20 ft (4.9-6.1m) ceilings; the 60" (152cm) 72-light suits foyers 14' × 14' (4.3 × 4.3m) and up with ceilings to 20 ft+ (6.1m+) at the full 165.3" (420cm) overall drop.
• Staircase / stairwell: The 39" (99cm) 24-light in stairwells 6-8 ft (1.8-2.4m) wide; the 47.2" (120cm) 48-light in wider stairwells where the three tiers are visible from both floors.
• Vaulted or cathedral living room: The 47.2" (120cm) 48-light for rooms 16' × 20' (4.9 × 6.1m) with 14-18 ft (4.3-5.5m) peaks; the 60" (152cm) 72-light for great rooms of 20' × 24' (6.1 × 7.3m) and up.

• Standard 8-9 ft ceilings: Not recommended. At 29.5"-47" (75-120cm) of fixture height plus chain, all three sizes need 10 ft (3m) or more of ceiling height for proper clearance.

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Dining table: Set the lowest arm 30-36" (76-91cm) above the tabletop with a 10 ft ceiling; add 3" (7.6cm) per additional foot of ceiling height.
• Foyer / staircase: Keep the lowest point at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the floor and 6" (15cm) or more clear of any stair rail; in two-story spaces, center the fixture vertically on the second-floor line.
• Living room: Hold the lowest arm 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs directly over a table; in vaulted rooms, hang it so the top tier sits near the lower third of the ceiling volume.
• Commercial spaces: Maintain 7 ft (2.13m) of clearance over circulation paths; over fixed tables, use the dining rule.

• Weight check: The 48-light weighs 28.6 lbs (13kg) and the 72-light 69.4 lbs (31.5kg); confirm the junction box and ceiling framing are rated for the load, and use a support bracket into a joist for the 72-light.
• Proportion check: Add the room length and width in feet and use that number in inches as a starting diameter; for a dining table, keep the fixture at about two-thirds of the table width.
• Bulb choice: Warm white 2700K flame-tip or torpedo LED candelabra bulbs at 5-7W each keep the candle look; 24 × 5W draws 120W, 72 × 5W draws 360W.
• Assembly time: Arms and tiers ship disassembled; plan 2-3 hours for the 48-light and more for the 72-light, with two people.
• Sloped and vaulted ceilings: The 5"-5.5" (13-14cm) canopy mounts on angled ceilings; the chain hangs vertically, so position the canopy so the fixture centers over the spot below.
