Installation: Hardwired, 90-260VAC. Licensed electrician recommended. Mount the canopy to a junction box rated for the fixture weight; the 18 to 25-light versions need a support bracket into ceiling framing and lift access. Two people are needed for clusters of 10 lights and up.

Wire adjustment: Each wire adjusts at the canopy and can be shortened on site. Set and lock every wire length and butterfly angle before energizing.

• 10 or 12 Lights, 25.6" (65cm) ring, 6,000-7,900 lumens: Two-story stairwells 4-6 ft (1.2-1.8m) wide with 14-18 ft (4.3-5.5m) ceilings; choose 12 for a fuller cascade.

Light color guide:

• Confirm Warm White or Cool White at order. Warm White suits homes and the gold frame, giving the butterflies a soft amber shimmer; Cool White suits hotel lobbies and modern white or grey interiors where the engraving should read crisp.
• Dimming: Order the dimmable version wherever the fixture is the main light, and pair it with an LED-rated dimmer.
• Matching: Keep the fixture at the same color temperature as sconces and recessed lights visible from the staircase.

By placement:

• Staircase / stairwell: 8 to 20 Lights centered in the open well, with the butterflies staggered to follow the stair's rise.
• Duplex / villa foyer: 16 to 25 Lights centered in the opening; the crystal ring reads from the landing and the butterflies from the entry.

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Stairwell: Keep the lowest butterfly at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the treads it hangs over and 6" (15cm) clear of the rail; set the ring near the top of the well.
• Foyer: Maintain 7 ft (2.13m) of floor clearance; in two-story spaces, spread the butterflies so the cascade's center sits level with the second-floor line.
• Living room: Keep the lowest butterfly 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs over a table.
• Over a console or table: Set the lowest butterfly 30-36" (76-91cm) above the surface with a 12 ft ceiling; add 3" (7.6cm) per additional foot.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

• Drop calculation: The 137.8" (350cm) height is the maximum with wires fully extended; every wire shortens on site. Each butterfly is 8.3" (21cm) across, so allow its width when setting the lowest point.
• Stagger plan: Set the butterflies at staggered heights and turned at varied angles so the wings catch light from different directions; butterflies at one level and one angle read as a flat ring.
• Proportion check: Keep the ring diameter under one-third of the stairwell or foyer opening width.
• Air movement: Light acrylic butterflies on fine wires move visibly near HVAC vents or open doors; a slight sway suits the design, but keep the canopy 3 ft (0.9m) or more from vents to avoid tangling.
• Engraving direction: The engraved wing faces catch light best when angled toward the main viewpoint; turn the outer butterflies to face the entry or stairs.
