By placement:

• Round dining table: The D23.6" (60cm) suits tables 36"-42" (91-107cm) across; the D31.5" (80cm) covers 42"-54" (107-137cm); the D39.4" (100cm) anchors tables 54"-66" (137-168cm) seating 6-8.
• Living room: The D31.5" (80cm) centers over a coffee table in rooms 12' × 14' (3.7 × 4.3m); the D39.4" (100cm) fills larger seating zones of 14' × 18' (4.3 × 5.5m) with 9 ft+ (2.7m) ceilings.
• Bedroom: The D23.6" (60cm) or D31.5" (80cm) suits standard bedrooms; the low height keeps clearance comfortable on 8 ft ceilings.

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Round dining table: Set the lowest disc 30-36" (76-91cm) above the tabletop with an 8 ft ceiling; add 3" (7.6cm) per additional foot of ceiling height.
• Living room / bedroom: Keep the lowest point at least 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs directly over a table.
• Foyer / entryway: Maintain at least 7 ft (2.13m) of floor clearance; center the fixture in the open area, not over the door swing.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

• Drop calculation: Fixture height is 10.6" (27cm) plus the 4" (10cm) canopy; add the cord length you keep. On an 8 ft (2.4m) ceiling, keep the cord under 14" (36cm) so the lowest disc clears 30" (76cm) above a table.
• Proportion check: Choose a diameter about two-thirds of your table width; for a living room, add the room length and width in feet and use that number in inches as a starting diameter.
