General Specifications:

  • Light Source: G9 LED Bulbs (5W per bulb)
  • Light Color Options: Neutral White (default), Warm White, Cool White
  • Dimmable: No
  • Body Material: Stainless Steel
  • Shade Material: Glass
  • Glass Color Options: Frosted, Smoke Grey, Milky, Transparent
  • Color Options: Black, Gold
  • Size Tolerance: ±3.1" (8 cm), as the branches are adjustable
  • Certifications: UL, cUL, CSA, ETL, CE, UKCA, RCM, SAA, FCC, CCC, CQC, EMC, GS, LVD, PSE, RoHS, VDE
  • Installation: Hardwired. Licensed electrician recommended. Mount the canopy to a junction box rated for the fixture weight and fixed into ceiling framing; the branch hangs rigidly, so the box must be secure and plumb. Two people and scaffold or lift access are needed for the 16 and 20 Lights.
  • Branch sections: The branch ships in sections that assemble in order; fit the sections and check the globe positions before energizing.
  • Lighting: 5W G9 LED bulbs in Neutral, Warm, or Cool White as ordered; replace with LED G9 of the same wattage and color temperature. Non-dimmable; use a standard on/off switch.
  • Cleaning: Power off at the breaker. Wipe the glass globes with a dry microfiber cloth; for smudges, use a lightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Wipe the branch with a soft dry cloth; avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners on plated finishes. Clean tall installations from a landing or with an extension pole.
  • Checkups: Re-check the canopy fixing, section joints, and globe seating one week after installation, then annually.

Shaw scales by height and globe count with the same 30.7" (78cm) spread across every size, so ceiling height sets the size and the stairwell only needs to be about 4 ft (1.2m) wide. The globes sit at set positions along the branches, with a ±3.1" (8cm) size tolerance from the twig angles, so plan clearances with that margin.

Light count guide (which height do you need):

  • 8 Lights, 66.1" (168cm) height, 3,600-4,000 lumens: Single-story stairwells, entryways, and living rooms with 12-14 ft (3.7-4.3m) ceilings.
  • 10 Lights, 78.7" (200cm) height, 4,500-5,000 lumens: Entry halls and living rooms with 13-15 ft (4-4.6m) ceilings.
  • 12 Lights, 90.6" (230cm) height, 5,400-6,000 lumens: Two-story stairwells with 14-16 ft (4.3-4.9m) ceilings.
  • 16 Lights, 118.1" (300cm) height, 7,200-8,000 lumens: Two-story foyers and stairwells with 17-20 ft (5.2-6.1m) ceilings, as in the product photo.
  • 20 Lights, 145.7" (370cm) height, 9,000-10,000 lumens: Villa entrance halls and three-story stairwells with 20 ft+ (6.1m+) ceilings.

Finish and glass guide:

  • Black branch: Reads as a graphic line against pale walls; suits modern, monochrome, and Scandinavian interiors.
  • Gold branch: Warms cream, wood, and marble interiors and matches brass rails, as in the product photo.
  • Frosted glass: Even, glare-free glow with a soft edge; the default look.
  • Milky white glass: Opaque white globes that read as solid orbs when off; suits minimalist rooms.
  • Smoke grey glass: Moodier tint that softens the light points; pairs with the black branch.
  • Transparent glass: The brightest option; the G9 bulb is visible, so choose a decorative filament-style bulb.

Light color guide (which color temperature to choose):

  • Neutral White (standard): Balanced light for stairwells and foyers used through the day; suits mixed-material interiors and either branch finish.
  • Warm White (on request): Homes with wood, cream, and brass; pairs with the gold branch and frosted or milky glass.
  • Cool White (on request): Modern grey or white interiors and commercial spaces; pairs with the black branch and smoke or transparent glass.
  • Matching: Keep the globes at the same color temperature as sconces and recessed lights visible from the staircase.

By placement:

  • Staircase / stairwell: 12 to 20 Lights centered in the open well, positioned so the globes stay clear of the rail at every turn.
  • Two-story foyer: 16 or 20 Lights centered in the opening; the branch reads from the entry and the landing.
  • Double-height living room: 8 to 12 Lights beside a stair or over a seating group in rooms with 12 ft+ (3.7m+) ceilings.
  • High-ceiling entryway: 8 or 10 Lights in entries with 12-15 ft (3.7-4.6m) ceilings.
  • Standard 8-10 ft ceilings: Not suitable; the shortest size is 66.1" (168cm) tall.
  • Sloped ceiling: All sizes mount on angled ceilings; the branch hangs vertically.

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

  • Stairwell: Keep the lowest globe at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the treads beneath it and 6" (15cm) clear of the rail.
  • Foyer: Maintain 7 ft (2.13m) of floor clearance; in two-story spaces, position the branch's middle near the second-floor line.
  • Living room: Keep the lowest globe 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs over a table.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

  • Drop calculation: The branch hangs to the listed height; ceiling height minus fixture height must leave 7 ft (2.13m). A 16 ft (4.9m) ceiling takes the 12 Lights with about 101" (257cm) to spare.
  • Width check: Keep the 30.7" (78cm) spread 12" (30cm) clear of walls and rails, and allow the ±3.1" (8cm) tolerance when measuring a tight well.
  • Orientation: The branch is asymmetric; decide which face addresses the entry before the electrician sets the canopy, since the fixture cannot rotate after mounting.
  • Bulb choice: With transparent glass, choose a clear filament-style G9 LED; with frosted, milky, or smoke glass, any G9 LED of the right wattage.
  • Daylight: Position the branch where windows reach it; the glass globes read as a sculpture even when switched off.

For standard stairs (12-15ft ceiling), use 8-ball (62.99"). Medium stairs (15-20ft) need 10-12 balls (78.74"-90.55"). Large stairs (20ft+) require 16-20 balls (118.11"-145.67"). Width remains 21.65" for all models.

Yes. Replacement globes available in smoke grey, transparent, milky white, or frosted. Order exact size (G9 compatible). Professional replacement recommended to maintain warranty.

Each G9 LED provides 400-500 lumens. 8-ball model delivers 3200-4000 total lumens. Larger models scale up proportionally. Non-dimmable system.

Yes, installation on sloping ceilings is suitable.

Yes. Fixed branch design requires precise mounting. Multiple safety certifications (UL/CE) mandate professional installation. Improper mounting voids warranty and risks fixture stability.

Match the height to the ceiling: 8-10 Lights for 12-15 ft (3.7-4.6m), 12 Lights for 14-16 ft (4.3-4.9m), 16 Lights for 17-20 ft (5.2-6.1m), and 20 Lights for 20 ft+ (6.1m+). Every size spreads 30.7" (78cm), so a 4 ft (1.2m) wide well is enough.

Exactly the coverage we needed

We went back and forth between two sizes for our living room. Sent the room dimensions in and got a straight answer the same day. Installed on a standard 9-foot ceiling with no issues.

Install went smoothly

Two-storey entryway. Our electrician handled the mounting in about two hours. Packaging was serious - every strand wrapped separately, nothing chipped.

Worth the wait

Shipping took longer than I hoped, but it arrived in the window they quoted and the fixture is a lot of presence. Measure carefully first.

Modern Chandelier replied

Thanks Elena - transit on the larger configurations does run to the back half of our stated window. We show the estimate on every product page so there are no surprises.

The questions we hear most

All FAQs →

How do I know what size to order?

Add your room's length and width in feet — that number read as inches is a good target diameter. A 12 × 14 ft room points to roughly a 26″ fixture. Then check your ceiling height, which decides how far it can drop.

Or skip the maths: send us both figures and we will name the exact fixture and size that fits. It is free, it takes a day, and there is no obligation to buy. The size and fit guide covers every rule we work to.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are processed in 2–7 business days, then standard shipping runs 7–20 business days within the US and 7–15 days internationally. Express is 5–11.

Every product page shows an estimate for the size you select, and tracking is sent the moment the fixture ships.

What if it arrives damaged?

Every order ships fully insured, with crystal and glass packed piece by piece in separate compartments.

If something arrives broken, photograph it the day it lands and keep the original carton. We send the replacement part or the whole fixture at our cost — no claim to argue, no return shipping to pay.

Can the drop length be changed?

On adjustable models, yes — and at no extra cost. Send your ceiling height with the order and the suspension is cut before it ships, so your electrician mounts it rather than modifying it on a ladder.

Finish and dimension changes are quoted per project. See customize your light.

Do I need an electrician?

For hardwired fixtures, yes. Mounting hardware and instructions ship with every order; the electrician's time is not included.

One thing worth checking first: a standard US ceiling box supports up to 50 lb. Above that the fixture needs support independent of the box. Every product page lists its weight so your electrician can confirm before the install date.

What is the return policy?

30 days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging. Custom and personalized items are excluded, which is why any custom specification is confirmed in writing before production starts.

A catalogue fixture with a custom drop length is not a custom item — it returns under the normal policy.

Which safety certifications do the fixtures carry?

UL and ETL for the United States and Canada, CE and VDE for Europe, SAA for Australia, plus FCC and ROHS.

Certification documents are available on request for any product — useful if the fixture is going into a permitted job or a commercial space.

Do you work with designers and contractors?

Yes. The trade program covers tiered pricing from 10–25%, priority processing, specification support on plans and elevations, and one account contact across every project.

Applications are reviewed within two business days, and there is no minimum order to apply.

Still deciding?

Send your ceiling height and room dimensions. We will tell you which fixture and size fits — free, with no obligation to buy.
