Light color guide (warm or cool white):

• Warm White (3000K): A soft, golden glow that makes the acrylic tubes read like candlelight. Choose it for homes, stairwells and foyers used mostly in the evening, and interiors with wood, cream, beige, or brass; it pairs naturally with the gold finish.
• Cool White (6000K): A crisp, bright daylight tone that keeps the tubes clean and white. Choose it for hotel lobbies, offices, and modern white, grey, or concrete interiors, and for stairwells where maximum visibility on the treads matters; it pairs with the black or silver finish.
• Mixed-light homes: If your recessed lights and sconces are already 3000K, stay with Warm White; if they are 5000-6000K, choose Cool White so the staircase and adjoining rooms read as one space.

By placement:

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Stairwell: Keep the lowest tube at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the treads it hangs over and 6" (15cm) clear of the rail; set the highest tubes near the top third of the well.
• Foyer: Maintain 7 ft (2.13m) of floor clearance; in two-story spaces, spread the tubes so the cascade's center sits level with the second-floor line.
• Living room: Keep the lowest tube 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs over a table.
• Over a console or table: Set the lowest tube 30-36" (76-91cm) above the surface with a 10 ft ceiling; add 3" (7.6cm) per additional foot.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

• Drop calculation: The listed height is the maximum with wires fully extended; every wire shortens on site. Each tube adds 23.6" (60cm) below its wire, so the tube length has a large effect on clearance.
• Stagger plan: Offset the tubes by at least half a tube length so the tops and bottoms don't line up; aligned tubes read as a flat bar rather than a cascade.
• Proportion check: Keep the canopy diameter under one-third of the stairwell or foyer opening width.
• Rail clearance: On curved stairs, check the lowest tubes against the rail at every turn, not just at the landing.
• Air movement: Long tubes on fine wires sway near HVAC vents or open doors; keep the canopy 3 ft (0.9m) or more from vents.
