Tiva Travertine Outdoor Wall Light

Tiva Travertine Outdoor Wall Light is an up-and-down LED wall sconce: a slab of natural travertine sits inside a slim black metal frame. An architectural stone wall light sealed for any climate, for front entries, porches, patios, gardens, and balconies outdoors, and living rooms and bedsides indoors. Explore related styles in Outdoor Wall Lights, Wall Sconces, Outdoor Lighting, and Wall Lights.

Key Features:
  • Natural travertine stone panel,
  • Black metal frame and backplate
  • IP65 rated: sealed against dust and water
  • Integrated LED
  • Rated for indoor and outdoor use
  • Modern contemporary design
Suitable:
Indoor
Outdoor
Garden
Pathway
Patio
Entryway
Garage
Living Room
  • Installation: Hardwired, 110-240V. Licensed electrician recommended. The fixture arrives fully assembled; mount the backplate to a wall box (exterior-rated for outdoor use) with the included bracket and screws, connect the wires, and seal the backplate edge with exterior silicone when outdoors.
  • Lighting: Integrated Warm White LED, 7W, built in and rated for long service life; no bulbs to buy or replace.
  • Cleaning: Power off at the breaker. Dust the travertine with a dry soft brush or microfiber cloth; wipe the metal frame with a damp cloth and dry. Avoid acidic cleaners, sprays, and pressure washing, which etch and stain natural stone.
  • Checkups: Re-check the backplate screws and silicone seal after the first heavy rain for outdoor units, then annually.

Tivaro Travertine is a single-size sconce, so the decision is where to place it and how many to use. Its tall, narrow profile suits vertical wall surfaces beside doors and along corridors, and the 700-770 lumen output is accent and pathway light rather than area lighting.

Placement guide (how many do you need):

  • One: Beside a single front door, at a side entry, on a balcony wall, or as a bedside reading light on one side of the bed.
  • Pair: Flanking a front door, garage door, patio slider, or bed; mount at the same height, the same distance from the opening, on both sides.
  • Run: Along a porch, patio wall, garden wall, breezeway, or hallway, spaced 8-10 ft (2.4-3m) apart, each covering about 55-110 sq ft (5-10 m²) of wall and floor.

Light color guide:

  • Warm White (fixed): The fixture ships in Warm White only, which gives the travertine a soft amber glow and matches most residential porch, path, and landscape lighting at 2700-3000K.
  • Matching the facade: Keep every exterior fixture on the same property at one color temperature; if garage or security lights are cool white, plan on switching them to warm for a consistent look.
  • Indoors: Warm White suits bedrooms and living rooms and reads naturally beside table lamps and dimmed ceiling lights.

By placement:

  • Front entryway: A pair flanking the door 6"-12" (15-30cm) from the trim; the up-and-down wash lights the door surround and the step below without glare.
  • Porch: Single units on the wall beside the door or on porch columns; the narrow 3.9" (10cm) width fits between windows and trim.
  • Patio / deck / garden wall: Units spaced 8-10 ft (2.4-3m) along the wall; the downward wash lights the floor near seating, the upward wash the eave or wall top.
  • Balcony / villa exterior: One per balcony beside the door, or a run along the exterior wall; the IP65 seal handles open exposure.
  • Covered hallway / breezeway: Units every 8-10 ft (2.4-3m) on one wall, or staggered on both walls.
  • Living room (indoor): A pair flanking a fireplace, media wall, or artwork, 6-8 ft (1.8-2.4m) apart; the travertine reads as a wall material rather than a fixture.
  • Bedside (indoor): One on each side of the bed, 6"-10" (15-25cm) outside the headboard edge; the downward wash gives soft reading light.
  • Bathroom vanity: A pair flanking a mirror; the IP65 rating handles steam and splash.

Mounting height rules (practical)

  • Beside a door (outdoor): Center the fixture 66"-72" (168-183cm) above the porch surface, roughly at the top third of the door.
  • Patio / garden / hallway / living room: Center the fixture 60"-66" (152-168cm) above the floor so the travertine panel sits at eye level.
  • Bedside: Center the fixture 30"-36" (76-91cm) above the mattress top; at 23.6" (60cm) tall, its lower edge will sit just above the headboard.
  • Two-story facade: Raise the center to 84"-96" (213-244cm) to keep proportion with the wall.
  • Clearance: Keep 6" (15cm) or more between the frame and door trim, shutters, or cabinets.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

  • Wall box: The backplate sits at the fixture's vertical center; mark the box height with the 23.6" (60cm) panel in mind, not the box itself.
  • Surface: Mount on a flat wall; on lap siding or rough stone, use a mounting block so the frame sits flush and the light spreads evenly up and down.
  • Stone variation: Travertine is natural stone, so pitting, veining, and tone differ from piece to piece; a pair will match in size and frame but not in exact pattern.
  • Outdoor exposure: The IP65 rating handles open-wall mounting in rain, snow, and coastal spray; an eave or overhang is optional, not required. Rinse salt residue off coastal installations monthly to protect the stone.
  • Output check: 700-770 lumens lights the wall and about 4-6 ft (1.2-1.8m) of floor in front; add pathway or flood lighting for driveways and yards.
  • Spacing: For even coverage along a wall, space fixtures at roughly two times the mounting height.

Yes. The IP65 rating means it is sealed against dust and water jets, so open walls, gardens, balconies, and porches in any climate are fine. Seal the backplate edge with exterior silicone at installation for a fully weatherproof mount.

As a pair beside the door, yes; each fixture covers about 55-110 sq ft (5-10 m²) of wall and step. For a full driveway or walkway, add pathway or flood lighting.

They match in size, frame, and finish, but each travertine panel is natural stone with its own pitting and veining. Small differences between a pair are inherent to the material.

No bulbs; the LED is built in. It runs on any standard 110-240V circuit, so your electrician can wire it through a photocell or timer switch for dusk-to-dawn operation outdoors.

Yes. Mount one on each side of the bed 30"-36" (76-91cm) above the mattress; the downward wash gives soft reading light and the stone reads as a wall feature during the day.

Exactly the coverage we needed

We went back and forth between two sizes for our living room. Sent the room dimensions in and got a straight answer the same day. Installed on a standard 9-foot ceiling with no issues.

Install went smoothly

Two-storey entryway. Our electrician handled the mounting in about two hours. Packaging was serious - every strand wrapped separately, nothing chipped.

Worth the wait

Shipping took longer than I hoped, but it arrived in the window they quoted and the fixture is a lot of presence. Measure carefully first.

Modern Chandelier replied

Thanks Elena - transit on the larger configurations does run to the back half of our stated window. We show the estimate on every product page so there are no surprises.

The questions we hear most

All FAQs →

How do I know what size to order?

Add your room's length and width in feet — that number read as inches is a good target diameter. A 12 × 14 ft room points to roughly a 26″ fixture. Then check your ceiling height, which decides how far it can drop.

Or skip the maths: send us both figures and we will name the exact fixture and size that fits. It is free, it takes a day, and there is no obligation to buy. The size and fit guide covers every rule we work to.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are processed in 2–7 business days, then standard shipping runs 7–20 business days within the US and 7–15 days internationally. Express is 5–11.

Every product page shows an estimate for the size you select, and tracking is sent the moment the fixture ships.

What if it arrives damaged?

Every order ships fully insured, with crystal and glass packed piece by piece in separate compartments.

If something arrives broken, photograph it the day it lands and keep the original carton. We send the replacement part or the whole fixture at our cost — no claim to argue, no return shipping to pay.

Can the drop length be changed?

On adjustable models, yes — and at no extra cost. Send your ceiling height with the order and the suspension is cut before it ships, so your electrician mounts it rather than modifying it on a ladder.

Finish and dimension changes are quoted per project. See customize your light.

Do I need an electrician?

For hardwired fixtures, yes. Mounting hardware and instructions ship with every order; the electrician's time is not included.

One thing worth checking first: a standard US ceiling box supports up to 50 lb. Above that the fixture needs support independent of the box. Every product page lists its weight so your electrician can confirm before the install date.

What is the return policy?

30 days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging. Custom and personalized items are excluded, which is why any custom specification is confirmed in writing before production starts.

A catalogue fixture with a custom drop length is not a custom item — it returns under the normal policy.

Which safety certifications do the fixtures carry?

UL and ETL for the United States and Canada, CE and VDE for Europe, SAA for Australia, plus FCC and ROHS.

Certification documents are available on request for any product — useful if the fixture is going into a permitted job or a commercial space.

Do you work with designers and contractors?

Yes. The trade program covers tiered pricing from 10–25%, priority processing, specification support on plans and elevations, and one account contact across every project.

Applications are reviewed within two business days, and there is no minimum order to apply.

Still deciding?

Send your ceiling height and room dimensions. We will tell you which fixture and size fits — free, with no obligation to buy.
