• Installation: Hardwired. Licensed electrician recommended. Mount the canopy to a junction box rated for the fixture weight; the 7 Lights needs a support bracket into ceiling framing. Two people are needed for the 5 and 7 Lights.

By placement:

• Staircase / stairwell: 5 or 7 Lights centered in the open well, cables cut to a descending pattern that follows the stair's rise.
• Foyer / entryway: 3 or 4 Lights in single-story entries; 7 Lights in wider foyers with 12 ft+ (3.7m+) ceilings.
• Round dining table: 3 or 4 Lights at a shallow stagger, sized to about two-thirds of the table diameter.

Hanging height rules by room (practical)

• Stairwell: Keep the lowest shade at least 7 ft (2.13m) above the treads it hangs over and 6" (15cm) clear of the rail.
• Foyer: Maintain 7 ft (2.13m) of floor clearance beneath the lowest shade.
• Dining table: Set the lowest shade 30-36" (76-91cm) above the tabletop with an 8 ft ceiling; add 3" (7.6cm) per additional foot.
• Living room: Keep the lowest shade 7 ft (2.13m) above walking areas unless it hangs over a table.

Placement tips that prevent common mistakes

• Drop calculation: Each shade hangs up to 47.2" (120cm) on its cable plus the shade height; the cables shorten on site. For two-story foyers where the cluster must hang lower, contact us before ordering to confirm longer cable availability.
• Stagger plan: Set the shades at staggered heights so they overlap in view; over a table, keep the stagger within 6"-10" (15-25cm) so the cluster reads as one fixture.
• Proportion check: The shades are large at 11.8" (30cm) each; keep the cluster at about two-thirds of a table's width and 12" (30cm) clear of walls and rails.
• Wood variation: Each shade is handmade, so grain, knots, and tone vary from piece to piece; this is part of the material, not a defect.
• Bulb heat: Use LED bulbs only; incandescent bulbs run too hot inside wood shades.
